Olney will be packed for the pancake race on Tuesday March 8th with hundreds lining the famous route from the Market Place to the parish church. The race starts just before noon but as the road closes, aim to be in place for 11.45 am. There are festivities in the Market Place beforehand and you can buy your pancake from the stall there. Read about one of the runners here. Last year, in a break from tradition, organisers allowed a man and non-Olney resident to participate: Joel from Blue Peter. He told OlneyOnline "I'm all woman". Photo report here. Festivities start in the Market Place with junior races. The parish church will also be packed for the Shriving service after the race. Last year, OlneyOnline spoke to the winners at the pancake party. Interested in the history of the race? Please click here.
