Wonderland WeekFamiliar characters from Alice in Wonderland filled Olney's Cowper & Newton museum, as children enjoyed 'The Mad Hatters Tea Party'. The museum laid on a trail of Alice characters around the town museum, both in the picturesque gardens and inside. Children of all ages enjoyed the trail - and their picnic tea in the courtyard. Teapots of Olney had laid on an array of tasty sandwiches and fairy cakes. There were some beautiful costumes for the Fancy Dress Parade - from Alices to a tiny Queen of Hearts. Youngsters also enjoyed the storytelling, craft and face painting. The museum's Front of House Manager, Amanda Pickard said: "It was lovely to see the museum full of families having fun. We have lots of other summer events planned, with the emphasis on children enjoy themselves." |
