Salcey Forest Tree Top Walk Salcey Forest has a wonderful wooden platform up above the tree canopy. The Tree Top Way climbs to a height of 20 metres - to reach it, follow the Elephant Walk. This 'treetop walk' is accessible to buggies and wheelchairs (except for steps right at the top) giving you a birdseye view of the forest and beyond. Trails There are extensive trails to help you explore Salcey Forest, with three walking rails, two of which are all-access paths (so manageable with a buggy or wheelchair). There is a 5 mile family cycle route and a 6 mile horse riding trail with its own car park for horse boxes. There is an abundance of wildlife at Salcey Forest, in Northamptonshire. Visitor Centre At the main car park at Salcey Forest there is a cafe, information point and ice-cream parlour. There are also toilets, a fenced children's play area and picnic areas. For those wanting to avoid the main centre, other car parks offer the chance to keep more off the beaten track in the forest. Opening hours:The Forest Cafe is open 8am - 5pm daily on weekdays, 10am to 5pm at weekends. |
