Sailing The best way to learn to sail is to take the introductory Royal Yachting Association level 1 start sailing course. This should be followed by a practice period of between 5 to 15 hours hire to perfect those skills before moving on to the RYA Level 2 basic course. Willen Lake offers an introduction course for those with little or no sailing experience. It is held over 2 days, from 9.15 to 1.30 each day. Either in single handed (S/H) or double handed (D/H).
