Operation Christmas Child Operation Christmas Child is a simple idea: to give needy children the chance to unwrap a box stuffed with presents for Christmas. Shoeboxes wrapped in Christmas paper are filled with small toys, soft animals, sweets, toothbrushes, pencils, paper, or soaps. It is amazing what people fit in... This years total was 380 shoeboxes which went from Olney and the surrounding villages to children in need around the world. They were collected at Olney Baptist Church. Organiser Hillary Terry was thrilled with the achievement and the delight it will provide to needy children this Christmas. In total Operation Christmas Child last year over 1.2 million shoeboxes packed full of gifts and goodies were wrapped, packed and sent to children in disadvantaged situations.
