Emberton is perhaps most celebrated for Emberton Park - a lovely public space. But there's also an attractive village to be explored. There's a pub and beautiful church in what is a thriving community. The Clock Tower at the crossroads at the heart of the village is unique.
This is a parish in the Borough of Milton Keynes and just to the south of Olney.
It is said the name comes from the old English word meaning Eanbeorht's Farm, but in the Domesday Book the village was called Ambretonn. Records of 1227 show it was called Emberdestone.
There is a pub called the Bell and Bear which, unusually, includes a Thai Restaurant.
Emberton's famous son is Dan Wheldon who is a huge star in American Indy car racing.
