78 Derngate: The Charles Rennie Mackintosh House & Galleries is the house remodelled by the world-famous designer and architect, Charles Rennie Mackintosh in his Modernist style...and now preserved.
It's now an award winning museum having taken the top prize from 2009 Enjoy England Excellence Award for Best Small Visitor Attraction in England.
The Gallery upstairs is free to enter, selling and showing contemporary craft.
The Dining Room serves a full range of contemporary food and there is a gift & craft shop.
Because there are so many stairs in 78 Derngate there is only partial access, and it is worth 'phoning for details.
