Food Festival Stalls! Festival Stalls The stalls were varied at the Big Olney Food Festival: from Caribbean food to Olney Honey. But all proved popular wth the Festival goers packed into the Market Place. Who knew paella was so popular? Clive from Much Ado had to start the paella going early to be ready for the lunchtime rush. Many more vats of the seafood paella were consumed before the day was out. The Festival Tent run by Olney Chamber of Trade and Olney Online volunteers did a roaring trade in soft drinks on what was one of the warmest September days possible. There were also tantalising fruit cocktails at the Scout tent, and fragrant Caribbean drink on offer too. Variety The afternoon teas of Teapots, the olive stall run by Much Ado, the curries of the Four Pillars, and Caribbean patties also offered festival goers a choice beyond the 'Feast' menu. Other stallholders reported a brisk trade. It was the first time Olney Honey had been on sale at an event like the Big Olney Food Festival. Beekeeper Bob North was delighted to find himself selling out of some of his lines. Parkin's fresh fruit, Harvest Bakery pies and Humbles chutney also had popular stalls. |
